Bacaan bagi emas jenis padu ini cantik dan tepat adalah kerana ianya padat, jadi tiada ruang udara bagi partikal lain untuk melepasi antara celahan reka bentuk emas tersebut. Seperti yang saya sudah jelaskan di atas, sewaktu penilaian emas dilakukan, ciri ciri seperti ini diambil kira kerana sewaktu emas perhiasan ini dimasukkan kedalam mesin, ianya akan menghasilkan keputusan bacaan yang rendah berbanding gred asalnya iaitu K22. Bacaan yang terhasil dari emas jenis hollow ini biasanya akan menjadi sama ada K18, K14 atau bahkan lebih rendah disebabkan oleh ruang udara yang terdapat pada bentuk perhiasan itu sendiri. Jenis ini juga, lebih mudah memerangkap habuk dan kekotoran yang mana menyebakan bacaan emas itu kurang cantik dan tepat. Jadi, jangan terkejut apabila pihak Ar-Rahnu atau kedai pajak gadai mengambil kira jumlah penolakkan yang lebih tinggi berbanding emas perhiasan jenis padu.
