Crocodile leather

Come with two types which shiny and matte and most expensive is matte crocodile leather. This types of leather should be kept away from water as its not waterproof and can cause permanent damage.

Calf leather

Calf leather is the oldest type of leather used by Hermes. Mostly found in vintage bags and neutral colors, still actively produced today. The leather is smooth and glossy. It is highly susceptible to scratches and caution is advised when handling it in rainy weather as water marks will stain the bag. However, it holds the shape of handbag very well.

Togo leather

Togo leather is the half sister to the Clemence which is made from baby calf. It is probably the most popular leather that used for Birkins because it is lightweight and holds it shape much easier.  The leather is scratch resistant and is fine-grained. Ostrich leather

Ostrich leather is the most durable exotic Hermès uses and  water-resistant. Swift leather

Formerly known as Gulliver leather until it was discontinued in 1999, this wonderful leather was reintroduced to the market in 2005 under the new name Swift.
