Omega is one of the best known and most respected luxury Swiss watch brands in the world today.  The speciality of Omega watch is they are Swiss-Made and known for high quality.

Omega is also a premium brand with a long history and reputation. Omega also spent a lot of money on marketing and celebrity endorsements to build the perception that they are worth the high price tag.

History Of Omega

Omega watches brand established by Louis Brandt. He was open a small work shop in La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland in 1848. During first thirty years after it was founded, Brandt maintained a modest business, selling his watches to customers around the world. 

Louis Brandt produce the first Omega movement in 1894. The name, Omega, the last letter of the Greek alphabet, symbolised the company’s efforts to reach the pinnacle of horological prowess.

When he passed away in 1879, his sons quickly stepped in to carry on their father’s vision.

Omega was selected by NASA  for use on the Apollo 11 mission, the Omega Speedmaster became recognised as the first watch on the moon in 1969. Omega also remains the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games. the Omega Seamaster became the watch of choice for the big screen’s Agent 007, James Bond.

Over the years, Omega has attracted a wide range of famous wearers including the likes of John F. Kennedy, Elvis Presley, and Prince William.

SEAMASTER

The Omega Seamaster is Omega’s longest-running product line, and has been in production since 1948. Its original design was based on designs for the British Royal Navy at the end of the Second World War.

SPEEDMASTER

The Omega Speedmaster is generally recognised as Omega’s most well-known watch, and there are numerous models available on the market today.

The Omega Speedmaster became recognised as the first watch on the moon in 1969. Famously worn by the astronaut Buzz Aldrin on the first manned lunar landing in 1969, the Omega Speedmaster became known as ‘the moonwatch’.

CONSTELLATION

The Omega Constellation was released in 1952. Available in both men’s and women’s designs, since 1982 most Constellation models are characterised by their unmistakable ‘Griffes’ or claws as 3 and 9 o’clock, as well as the star symbol at 6 o’clock on all Constellations.

DE VILLE

The Omega De Ville line was established in 1967. Aside from the aesthetics the model was also self-winding and water-resistant. In 2007, the De Ville line extended to include the DeVille Hour Vision, a complex piece with scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.
