In September 1995, the soon to be iconic Dior’s bag was given to Diana, Princess of Wales by the France’s first lady, Bernadette Chirac, on the occasion of her visit to Paris.
Princess Diana who later ordered it in many versions adopted immediately the new Dior’s bag, and was photographed countless times holding the bag.
It was soon being described as “iconic” and was launched in larger series, with its name changed from ‘Chouchou’ to ‘Lady Dior’ in 1996 as homage to the Princess Diana.
